Thusitha Rathnayake

I received my M.Sc in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand, where I specialized in Water and Wastewater Engineering, and my B.Sc in Biology from the University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka. My research interests include membrane-based water and wastewater treatment, microplastics, UV technologies, and anaerobic digestion, and I have several years of experience in these fields. My current research is focused on investigating microplastic contamination in rural communities’ water sources and using UV treatment to accelerate weathering. In addition to my work in academia, I'm also a professional photographer, graphic designer, and drone pilot. I need coffee to get going.
